The book of Hebrews describes the superiority of this new model: with the new covenant the Levitical priesthood, the physical temple and its associated tithes, sacrifices and offerings have all been abolished and replaced by the high priesthood of Christ Jesus, His "once for all" perfect sacrifice, and the priesthood of all Christian believers.       So I read it. And the whole concept / idea of it all totally weirded me out. I mean, the book said things like, “Upon tithing and giving generously, I doubled my income in a year.” etc. etc. etc. And no, this book was not some “get rich quick scheme” or anything like that. It was purely one man’s testimony of God’s blessings and His. You make a good point, Victor. We must look at Scripture in context and not isolate single verses to prove our points. Even with all the clear Scriptural evidence against tithing, I prefer to point to Jesus’ life and sacrifice as our example for giving rather than arguing every little point of the Law with those who support tithing in the strictest sense.

Is it right to count my church tithe on my tax returns. Even though tithing to your church is a matter of the heart, taking a tax deduction doesn’t shrink the value of your generous gift.

The Bible tells us to be good managers of our money, so if taking the deduction helps you manage the other 90% of your money better, then by all means.

Last Christmas I received a special gift from my mother. She had carefully kept in her possession over these many years a little book I first received from my parents inwhen I was 10 years of age. This is the book. It is a journal in which I was taught to record on a weekly basis my income and expenses.

Holly Black’s writing was my first introduction to fae fiction; as a kid, I was obsessed with all sorts of fae mythology, but typically was limited to nonfiction until the first time I saw Tithe on the “new” shelf at my library.

I must have checked this book out and reread it four or five times within the first couple of years, but this was my first reread since I was a preteen, and I /5(K). and find” the prosperity principles, which I wrote into my book, How to Achieve Total Prosperity.

In exploring for principles that can work for anyone and everyone, I discovered tithing. I started by giving a little and kept increas-ing it as my returns increased in. Tithing and freewill giving can be made to look similar on the surface, regardless of facts, if enough determination and effort is used to make them look that way.

It is commonly believed that tithing began with Abraham. “And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand.

And he [Abraham] gave him tithes of all.”— Genesis But actually, the principle underlying tithing was, by the God of heaven, to Adam. “The tithing system did not originate with the Hebrews.Tithing and the Book of Life.
